Fence Gate installation on a hill with this slanted fence post.

I need to put gate here for a lawncare crew to get through. It has to go here. The issue is the best spot to put it is at the left most downhill post which doesn't sit flush with the fence. It was built to keep in line with the neighbors fence and we're in a cul de sac. I'd feel ok doing this if it were flush, but I'm not sure how best to anchor it as is. My assumption and what I'm asking for advice in is to remove the front as it is, put a fence plank directly on the post flush, install the gate such that the gate is closed at an angle to this post but flush with the existing front. Attached sketch for visual. (yes I will remove the old metal fence post too) Otherwise, I could install this with the hinges at the middle post and the latch at the highest, but that means the latch would be on the same post as the one where the neighbor gate hinges are, and I hated how crowded that would be, but it is my post technically. If there is an easier or better way, please let me know. submitted by /u/TraskFamilyLettuce [link] [comments]
