Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters 1-6 get get surprise updates on Steam

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster 1-6 collection has been available to play on Steam since they were added between 2021 and 2022, but that hasn’t stopped them from receiving sporadic updates over the years.  The latest of these surprise updates comes on March 5, featuring small tweaks for each of the Pixel Remaster titles, more than a full year after the last one in February 2024. All six games have received minor bug fixes, as well as the following specific updates for each game: Final Fantasy I & II Screenshot by Destructoid The Mini-map on/off setting will now be correctly applied after displaying the map screen and upon loading Improvements to UI and controls Fixed a bug that can prevent progression after specific control inputs or in specific circumstances Fixed a bug where an achievement can sometimes not be acquired after fulfilling requirements Final Fantasy III Added “Job Level” to Boost features. In addition to EXP and Gil, a x0 to x4 modifier can also be applied to the Job Level increase rate Dialogue text with companion characters is now displayed in order instead of at random The Mini-map on/off setting will now be correctly applied after displaying the map screen and upon loading Improvements to UI and controls Fixed a bug that can prevent progression after specific control inputs or in specific circumstances Fixed a bug where an achievement can sometimes not be acquired after fulfilling requirements Fixed a bug that can cause the damage value for “Barrage” to become incorrect Final Fantasy IV “Float” is now maintained after map transitions in dungeons The Mini-map on/off setting will now be correctly applied after displaying the map screen and upon loading Changed the order of Rosa’s battle commands Adjusted minor battle behaviours Adjusted some events Improvements to UI and controls Fixed a bug that can prevent progression after specific control inputs or in specific circumstances, such as during auto-battle Fixed a bug where an achievement can sometimes not be acquired after fulfilling requirements Final Fantasy V The Mini-map will now not be displayed under specific circumstances The Mini-map on/off setting will now be correctly applied after displaying the map screen and upon loading Adjusted minor battle behaviours Improvements to UI and controls Adjusted some sounds such as the sound effect for spear attacks Fixed a bug that can prevent progression of the game and/or corrupt the screen display during the ending Fixed a bug that can prevent progression after specific control inputs or in specific circumstances Fixed a bug where “Can be two-handed” and “Can be enchanted” are not displayed in weapon descriptions following a previous update Fixed a bug where an achievement can sometimes not be acquired after fulfilling requirements Final Fantasy VI Adjusted the EXP that is compensated when certain characters rejoin the party Adjusted the branching conditions for the Cid event The mini-map will now not be displayed under specific circumstances The Mini-map on/off setting will now be correctly applied after displaying the map screen and upon loading If a character has equipment that grants permanent status changes, the status changes are now correctly applied after they are KO'd and revived Adjusted minor battle behaviours Adjusted the controls for the command input of "Blitz" Improvements to UI and controls Fixed a bug where the music for the final battle may not correctly switch Fixed a bug that can prevent progression of the game after specific control inputs or under specific circumstances Fixed a bug where a specific achievement can sometimes not be acquired after fulfilling the requirements It’s nice to see these beautiful little remasters getting some care and attention so long after their initial releases (the first Final Fantasy is a whole four years older than me, and I could certainly use some looking after).
