"Fixing" odd partial wall in master suite
We just bought a home with a partial wall in the master suite separating the bathroom from the bedroom. We want the bathroom to be fully separated from the bedroom, the toilet at least is separated from the rest of the bathroom, but the shower/tub moisture and the simple noise/light issues that could interfere with sleep leave us wanting to close off the partial wall entirely. The partial wall is tall, and sits beneath a vaulted ceiling, sits beneath some large windows that are up near the ceiling. To make matters worse, on the other side of the partial wall is some sort of notch (see photos). https://imgur.com/a/Q00GmWm I'm having trouble picturing any solutions to this situation, given that you can't just raise the wall straight up above it's current height as there's nothing for it to frame into on either side (because of window and notch). Obviously I don't want to remove the windows, or add a ceiling to the bathroom, which has a skylight and benefits from that window light. Also, that wall has the plumbing for the vanity, so to completely remove the wall and build a new one (centered beneath the window) would be an option, but a pretty drastic one.\ Any thoughts/ideas would be appreciated. submitted by /u/dhibbit [link] [comments]
