Floating floor has vertical movement when walking on it
DIY community, Installing some floating floor in my house, and while most of it feels nice and tight, there is an area several boards across where, as we walk on it, the floor visibly moves "up and down"... The movement is visually seen (as in video, still trying to link), and also "felt" by the person walking. Is this something that I did wrong, and what could be possible causes / fixes in the communities opinion? If the floor is left like this, will the boards rubbing on each other day in day out cause premature failure? Background: Had vinyl laminate floor here prior to this, quite level. We put the underlayment to smooth out any small ups and downs. Wood is 3/8 Engineered wood, Bruce Click-Lock floating floor. I have religiously hammered each new plank in both directions with a mallet. Vacuumed thoroughly before underlayment, and also before putting the new wood. Feeling lost and defeated now. submitted by /u/Noob_User0 [link] [comments]
