Help me build a DIY built in above this bedroom door and corner space.
Behind the bedroom door between the door frame and the wall is about a 2 inch gap. The area behind the door is 33.5 inch long and 14 inch deep (closet wall). There is another bedroom on the other side of the wall, so next to my behind the door space is their closet space that sticks into my room. I'm thinking about putting ashelf directly above the door. There is 37 inches from the edge of the door frame to the corner. And also put a shelf on the 33.6 inch wall. Or should the shelf just be on the 33inch wall and on the 14 inch side. If I do it like that maybe I can put cabinet doors and making into a cabinet. Then still put a 2inch shelf below. Your input would be good. Links to photos of something similar to my behind the door area would help. I moved from a two bedroom apartment to a room within a house. I'm thinking i can put a shelf above the door and maybe a micro shelf (2 inch shelf on the wall below just to hold toiletries. I'm going to get a door hanger storage bag thing for shoes as well. I have a 12 inch deep, 31 inch tall, 21 inch wide cabinet behind the door but it makes it so the door only opens half way so I want to move it someplace else. submitted by /u/No-Assistance-7629 [link] [comments]
