House looks like a crack den

So my parents have been putting off finishing the remodel for over a decade now. I believe they took the gutters off around 10 years ago, but the front porch had a sinking problem. Water started building up and the house and rotted the bottom of the front door to the point where you have to force it open. My mom’s solution was to do this to catch the water and send it away, which despite how ugly it is, it’s still effective. I get embarrassed when grocery and delivery drivers see that, and I feel like I have to explain every time that we don’t sell drugs. Do you have any advice for me that I can do temporarily?
