How important are the hold down clamps in a new drop in kitchen sink install?

I do plan on using caulking on the install. But as I'm dropping this on top of a tile counter, where I had to dig out the old sink, there's a pretty good distance between the sink top rim and the bottom of the blocking beneath it. I'm wondering if I need to do a bunch of surgical cutting and coercive adjusting in order to get any of the hold down clamps to work. The sink does come with around 10 anchor points. Maybe I can engage 2 of them? Or none? Thoughts? Any insights or advice is welcome. Thanks. submitted by /u/Jaanrett [link] [comments]
