How to loosen up compacted dirt for leveling?
Hi all I ripped up a few concrete slabs (total about 10 ft x 8 ft) and replaced it with 1.5 tons of fill dirt in November. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to work on the space since then, and since then it's been compacted by foot traffic and rain. I still need to do some leveling/sloping before finishing up with sand/base panel/pavers. What would be the easiest way to loosen up a few inches of the dirt by hand so that I can redistribute it to level/slope the area as necessary? Can you suggest a tool/tools or method?
