Celebrating its founder, Hajime Asaoka’s 60th birthday, the new Jubilee Sensu EOL "Shiraai” is a special anniversary timepiece set to release later this month. The Japanese characters for “Shiraai” are “白藍,” which describes a whitish blue color that’s fittingly reflected onto the dial in an icy, metallic finish. It’s been white since the watchmaker adopted a similar hue onto his creations; the last time being on “Seiji” back in 2021. The classic guilloché from the previous “SENSU NOS” models has also been swapped for a chrysanthemum-wave-like pattern. The guilloché exudes a radial-like effect that elegantly interplays with the dial’s radiant color. This is complemented by the iconic ‘SENSU’ power-reserve indicator and accented by highly polished steel domes as indices. Black Kanji script is painted at each hour marker, completing this unique dial design.Powering this exquisite timepiece is the CaI.9133PWT, a movement that has been specifically modified in-house at Asaoka’s humble Tokyo workshop. The original movement is already out of production, with only limited pieces supplied to Kurono Tokyo for this release. Similar to the “SENSU NOS” watches from last year, Asaoka removed the caliber’s original date function to lessen the number of indicators on the dial. The Jubilee Sensu EOL "Shiraai” anniversary watch will be released as a time-limited model for the price of $2,230 USD (excluding taxes). The pre-order window opens on May 22, 11 a.m. JST, or May 21, 10 p.m. ET via Kurono Tokyo’s official website.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
