Nicole Kidman Reveals Her Met Gala Chop Was Just a Wig at Academy of Country Music Awards

It seems Nicole Kidman’s pixie era was just a one off.

The Academy Award-winning actor and former L’OFFICIEL cover star has donned numerous hair eras during her career, but her recent short, slicked back style for Monday night’s Met Gala was quite a brief one. Kidman attended the Academy of Country Music Awards Thursday evening and brought back her signature long locks on the red carpet.

For the biggest night in country music, Kidman and her country artist husband Keith Urban arrived in coordinating all black looks. Kidman chose a leather halter top and pants with a skirt-like overlay—the latter begging the question if skirts over pants are coming back—by Monse, the NYC brand by Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia behind the Blue Origin flight suits. The Babygirl actor accessorized with silver jewelry and a pair of black pointed toe heels, keeping her makeup understated. Urban matched his wife perfectly in a black velvet suit and a pair of chunky boots.

Kidman wore her "chop" in a bold side part on Monday—the look was a major trend on Spring/Summer 2025 runways—proves celebrities are anything but predictable. She chose a custom black gown by Balenciaga that matched the regal allure of her short-lived look. Mere days later, it was all different.

Shaboozey Joined the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards, Wearing Coach

Kidman wasn’t the only 2025 Met Gala attendee at the ACMs Thursday night. Shaboozey also made an appearance and did so in style. The Grammy-nominated artist wore a distressed brown leather suit with Western accents, which was custom made by Coach. He wore a ruffled bow instead of a tie, accessorizing with a pair of black Margiela Tabis and moto gloves. Shaboozey’s look was a far-cry from his turquoise moiré Robert Wun ensemble at the Met Gala. Even so, the latter seamlessly combined his trademark Western-wear with the year’s dandy style theme.
