The Overwatch 2 x Gundam Wing collaboration releases on April 29th, 2025, bringing with it a series of Gundam-inspired cosmetics, exclusive challenges and more.
The limited-time event in Blizzard’s hero shooter celebrates Gundam Wing’s 30th anniversary since the Japanese show’s debut in 1995, honouring ‘one of the most riveting space operas.’
This article goes over everything you need to know about Overwatch 2’s latest collaboration, including skin prices, and whether there will be any esports activations during the in-game event.
The previously leaked skins have now been officially confirmed, and the cosmetics are identical to what was shared prior to their release. Individual hero skins will cost 2,800 Overwatch Coins (~$30/£23), while the Mega Bundle containing every item will cost 5,900 Overwatch Coins (~$60/£46).
Four skins will be available throughout the Overwatch 2 X Gundam Wing limited-time event, as revealed in the gameplay trailer:
- Epyon Ramattra
- Wing Zero Mercy
- Deathscythe Reaper
- Tallgeese Soldier 76
According to the blog post on Overwatch 2’s official site, the skins will be available as bundles, accompanied by a series of cosmetic items available in the in-game store.
Alongside hero skins, the event includes an array of in-game challenges to complete, rewarding additional cosmetics upon completion — including a Gundamari weapon charm.
Are There Any Esports Activations Planned?
As of the writing of this article, no esports activations were released during the Overwatch 2 x Gundam Wing event.
However, Overwatch 2 is no stranger to providing digital incentives to promote its esports scene. For example, this year’s OWCS saw new skins, icons and name cards for heroes like Mercy and Echo. Cosmetics could also be earned by watching OWCS broadcasts after reaching specific milestones.
We’ve also seen various bundles offered at the Overwatch 2 in-game store to directly support the esports ecosystem. One instance was drops available at Champions Clash in Hangzhou, where a specific Juno bundle would contribute towards the prize pot.
