Prada Reinforces Its Signature Feminine Edge for Fall/Winter 2025
Prada’s Fall/Winter 2025 womenswear collection reimagines classic elegance through distorted proportions, raw textures, and bold details, redefining sensuality with a rebellious edge.

The Prada woman never abandons her stiletto heels, retro coats, well-mannered handbags, or pleated skirts. And under the direction of co-creative designers Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons—both known for rejecting the obvious, the reassuring, and the predictable—these classics take on a new life for the Fall/Winter 2025 collection.
The show opens with a series of stark black dresses, which could almost be considered little black dresses if not for their deliberately distorted proportions. Instead of skimming the body in a conventional, figure-flattering way, they hover away from it, as if the models were wearing a size too large. Yet it's not just the silhouettes that disrupt the retro aesthetic—creases, raw cuts, and intentionally imprecise pairings add an unexpected edge.
As color emerges—flashes of red, yellow, green, sky blue, and pink—the dresses are unexpectedly layered over trousers, even denim, a rarity on Prada’s womenswear runway. Skirts, meanwhile, sit at the waist in an undone, effortless manner, offering a fresh take on the classic knee-length cut, while leather minis are paired with oversized blousons. Jackets and coats feature exaggerated shoulders, sometimes cinched at the waist with delicate belts.
A recurring motif throughout the collection is a modern interpretation of fur—voluminous and plush, whether as outerwear or a striking detail—crafted from innovative materials that mimic the texture of real fur while remaining animal-friendly. This show may not mark a radical shift in Prada’s style, but in a world already rife with chaos (and not just in fashion), there’s something compelling about its subtle defiance. After all, Prada’s disheveled-haired women exude a quiet, sensual power. Front row celebrities included Charli D'Amelio, Simone Ashley, and Hunter Schafer.
