Prefer no-nail trim

I have two very short pieces of trim to go around the corner wall next to my shower, ~4” pieces. I’d prefer not to nail them to prevent splitting. I was planning on wood gluing them at the corner, then power grab, polyurethane sealant, const adhesive, or silicone them to my acrylic latex painted wall. Also seal the bottom to LVT and shower side for water seal. Has anyone had good results doing this?
