Question about tops of siding specifically...
After watching rather a lot of videos, I decided to DIY my siding. Vinyl planks with the flange on top, pretty standard. But I've run into a problem. The *top* of my siding, up against the soffits, lands awkwardly in the middle of a piece. And... I can't really find good instruction on how to handle that. What I've been doing is cutting it off where it needs to land, punching holes with this oblong-hole-puncher thing, and... either affixing them via those holes or judge friction-fitting the edges into a piece of J-trim filled in with a piece of under-sill trim to make it fit tighter. None of these solutions look good or right, and I feel like I need to go back and redo them. I'm also not *done* with this project after... a frankly offensively long time. So... how DO you deal with this? This has to be a common problem, right? submitted by /u/bigbysemotivefinger [link] [comments]
