Sentinels reveal Marvel Rivals roster without Shroud

The Marvel Rivals competitive scene is heating up in North America as Sentinels unveils its player line-up after a few teasers, featuring familiar names and newcomers.

Upon further inspection of the updated announcement, fans were left puzzled as to why Michael ‘Shroud‘ Grzesiek former esports professional and popular streamer, is nowhere to be seen.

Things are moving fast for Marvel Rivals esports, as Sentinels become the latest organisation to reveal their team for the hero-shooter.

In a post on X, the official Sentinels account announced its professional players, alongside coach and analyst, ready for upcoming Marvel Rivals events. The post included in-game characters in dark red with the caption “a nightmare in red, Sentinels have arrived.”

Those who have been following the Marvel Rivals esports scene for a while may have recognised most of these names on Sentinels’ new roster as former members of the Miami esports group NTMR.

It has been active since early betas and has secured first place in events such as last year’s Marvel Rivals Invitational for North America.

The main players left NTMR on February 10th, 2025, at a time when discussions surrounding potential team sign-ups were rampant. Shortly afterwards, Sentinels would announce its foray into Marvel Rivals esports.

The majority of these players are also former Overwatch professionals, with the new addition Coluge boasting an experienced record dating back to 2017.

NTMR responded on X to the announcement, wishing its ex-players luck in future events. It said: “Being able to be part of your early journey in Marvel Rivals has been an incredible honor.

“We’re incredibly proud of how far each and every one of you has made it due to your passion for the game, and no matter where the future takes you, we will be there rooting for you as always. Once a NTMR, always a NTMR.”

While Shroud has mostly put his esports days behind him in pursuit of streaming and content creation, many fans online were still surprised to find no mention of his name during the announcement.

Shroud has been doubling down on Marvel Rivals as his latest craze, going as far as reaching top 500 in the ranked playlist.

Fans hoped this would be Shroud’s big esports comeback after a short stint in VALORANT. However, his latest comments suggest that while it’s possible, it may not be as fans expected.

The streamer previously shared that he was in talks with Sentinels over creating a Marvel Rivals esports team during his Fragathon charity event on January 30th, 2025. Sentinels CEO, Rob Moore, confirmed to an extent that the organisation welcomed the idea of working with Shroud again.

When February 9th hit, the charity reached $1 million in donations for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Shroud reaffirmed his desire to create an esports team.

However, he was intentionally vague as to what that team would look like, with no mention of Sentinels — and in turn, Sentinels’ latest announcement has no mention of Shroud.
