Sewage smell after fix
Wondering if anyone knows how long a sewage smell might take to dissipate after a cracked waste pipe repair. We had a flexi pan connected used underground to collect toilet to the drain. We didn’t know it was there when we bought the house and it obviously failed with some sewage spilling under house. Most was flushing correctly down the drain still. Last week an engineer fixed the issue, removing the floor, digging to the clay pipe and fitting a now solid stack to the loo. Everything is working as expected. Even though the engineer wet vacuumed what he could, I expect some waste remains in crevices under the house and we can still smell it in the bathroom although nowhere near as bad. How long can I expect this smell to persist? Ive sealed large gaps between tiles and the skirting but it’s a 100 year old house so I don’t want to completely seal all airflow. submitted by /u/ol64m [link] [comments]
