Small retaining wall. Need advice.

I'm building a very small retaining wall out of versalok. It'll only be about 36 inches high, so I'm not concerned about anything structurally. This is more a post on tips to do it right. I have a downspout in the front corner of the house that is piped over to the back corner downspout and connects to it with a sanitary tee. Then it drops about 24" and is piped underground to my backyard. In the picture you can see the top of the gray pipe that runs to the backyard. The top of pipe is about flush with my existing patio. Because of this I plan to make this a small strip of pea gravel and build the wall behind the pipe (which will also make it easier for future access). I was wondering 2 things: 1. The wall may have to have 3 sides (2 short, 1 long), with one of the short sides coming from where the downspout is. How can I build the wall around this area to A) make a continuous wall, and B) help me access the piping in the future? The same short side will eventually butt up against the brick house. Do I need to put anything between the wall and the house? Any design ideas would be extremely appreciated. submitted by /u/SNIPES0009 [link] [comments]
