Definitive autumnal looks—think leather, leopard, and earthy hues—are reawakened with an urgent sense of now. Supermodel Sasha Pivovarova, our L'OFFICIEL USA September 2024 cover star, wears the quintessentially cool fall pieces.
An icon wears the icons. Fall always marks a welcome return of the classics, and this season in particular marks the triumphant, long-awaited return of early 2000s boho-chic. So it's only fitting that Pivovarova, the Russian model who was an essential part of the "wide eyed doll" era shows it off. Her illustrious career in the fashion industry, Pivovarova, 39, has posed for 19 Prada ad campaigns.
Among the iconic fall pieces with a twist include a leopard-print cape (and matching shoes) from Marni in a maximalist look that communicates a fun, summer attitude regardless of cold temps, and a comfy textured brown tank paired with deep red wide-legged pants, from Loewe.
A staple of early 21st-centruy fashion, Pivovarova models 2020s trends including the ever-present this season tall boot, fittingly from Chloé. Even more fittingly, it's paired with a sweater with a built-in cape. Of course, it wouldn't be fall without a chunky knit. A deep blue cable knit set from Alexander McQueen hits the right notes, and a snug, playful knit from Saint Laurent with extra long sleeves gets styled for a fancy occaison.
Leather never goes out of style, and Pivovarova proves it at an absolute must in a minimal yet eccentric black leather Proenza Schouler dress and a black cropped jacket from Khaite. Another timeless fall classic that will never go out of style? Earthy hues. Colors inspired by all stages of the sky: deep oranges and reds reminiscent of the sunset and sunrise (try not to think about daylight savings), and blues reflective of the ocean and clear blue skies.
As you gear up for fall, let the basics inspire you to create a whole new attitude, coutresy of Sasha Pivovarova.
