Armor King has been confirmed to be the next DLC character for Tekken 8 during popular FGC game festival Combo Breaker 2025.

Shown during the full trailer for Fahkumram, Armor King will be making its debut in the Autumn as a season 2 character. The official date for the release, however, has yet to be revealed.

Previously present in past iterations such as Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, Tekken 6, and Tekken 7, the trailer didn’t show any gameplay for the new character, leaving players and fans questioning what his fighting style will be like.

On the other hand, Fahkumram’s release date was confirmed, with early access on July 7th and the public release on July 10th, 2025.

Tekken 8 is one of the fighting games that reveals its DLC characters progressively throughout the year, something that hasn’t been particularly well received by the FGC community.

On the other hand, Armor King’s return to the game was welcomed: “I’m surprised it’s been announced before the next character is released. Breaking norms. I like it… Hopefully it will bring more people back to the game,” said one user on Reddit.

Now that Armor King has been announced alongside Fahkumram and Anna Williams, the final Tekken 8 character is expected to be a new addition to the franchise.

What Happened at Combo Breaker?

Aside from the in-game announcement, Combo Breaker also determined the four players heading to the 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC) tournament.

With the top three players, Han ‘Mulgold’ Jae-gyun, Atif ‘Atif Butt’ Ijaz, and Bae ‘Knee’ Jae-Min, already qualified for the tournament, the four new participants for the EWC are Lee ‘EDGE’ Ju-hyung, Arslan ‘Arslan Ash‘ Siddique , Yoon ‘LowHigh’ Sun-woong and Jeong ‘Rangchu’ Hyeon-ho.

Featuring 32 players in total, the Tekken 8 EWC tournament will take place on August 13th-16th and features a total prize pool of $1m (~£738,334.3).

Last year’s tournament was won by South Korea’s Lim ‘Ulsan‘ Soo-hoon of DN Freecs, who defeated Team Falcons’ ATIF to win $300,000 (~£221,500) and an additional $50,000 (~£36,916) for the MVP award.
