Temporary tiles for bathroom
Off the bat, I don't wan't comments like "grout lines with transfer through" or "just do it right the first time" etc. Now that the air is cleared, I'm looking for a temp fix to spruce up this en suite bath. I've got a full gut job for a kids bath elsewhere in the house, and since kids will have to move their bathtime to our en suite I'd like to just spruce it up a bit and make it feel nicer to be in so often. Depending on how the other bath remodel goes, I plan on doing the same gut job in this en suite in about 3-5 years, so I don't care to do some long term fix knowing I'm going to rip it all out in a few years. I've set a max budget of 1500 for absolutely everything (already including painting that vanity, new sink etc etc). Total square footage is just a hair over 100 sqft. Click lock tile (LVT) appeals to me as it seems like it would offer the most rigidity to resist the grout lines transferring through, however the tub at the back poses an issue. Both the vertical sections and raised horizontal floor wouldn't hold LVT. I also considered looking into painting the tiles, but everything I read online just says its a massive (and smelly) mess that doesn't hold up at all. Am I just stuck to suck it up and either live with the "scarface 80's" style bathroom tile or deal with transferred lines through a cheap peel and stick? Any ideas that I've missed? Would love to hear how you might refresh this bath with a limited budget https://preview.redd.it/7r4wiqd3wime1.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=21bc1e0366466afaef5f0aa00f0757240ddf5429 submitted by /u/Anne_8788 [link] [comments]
