Firestone is a resource used for crafting found in Monster Hunter Wilds.

As this is required in various weapons and armor sets, you’ll likely be wanting to track this ore down early on in the game.

This page explains where to find Firestone in Monster Hunter Wilds, and some tips on how to find gather some with ease.

Where to get Firestone in Monster Hunter Wilds

Firestone is an area-specific ore found from mining crops in Oilwell Basin, the game’s third area.

Mining crops are dotted around the area, such as on the outskirts of Areas 7 and 8, which is easily within reach of you first arriving.

Any mining crop has the chance to give Firestone, but in our experience, drops are pretty rare — meaning you’ll likely have to mine a handful of crops in order to see one appear. (On the bright side, you’re likely to get a bunch of Dragonite Ore and Machalite Ore in the process.)

To make your search for Firestone easier, there’s a way to auto travel to each mining spot. To do this:

  1. On the map screen, tap left or right on the D-pad, then go to the “Filter Icons” menu in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  2. Highlight mining outcrop, then by selecting left or right on the D-pad, you can cycle through available locations.
  3. By pressing the R3 button to select this as a waypoint, you can then use your Seikret to auto travel to this location by pressing up on the D-pad while riding.
  4. The cherry on top is not only can you mine these outcrops while on the back of a Seikret using your hook slinger, but if you stay mounted, you can open the map and select the next outcrop as your waypoint to then move to that location automatically.

Know that outcrops have a 15-minute cooldown, so either pursue other activities in the meantime, load into a new region and return, restart your game, or simply set your controller down, put the kettle on, and come back when the timer is up.
