Whole House Fan Cover Installation
I took off my old while house fan cover (plan is to paint ceilings and cover, then reinstall) and realized it was barely hanging up (maybe 2 of 8 screws holding it up plus a makeshift screw from the inside into a wall stud). I want to hang it properly however there is no where to screw into. The last picture has red dots marking approximate location of screw holes. The 2 screws previously holding this thing up just barely bit into the 2x6s. Any ideas on what I can do? My first thought was to add 2x6s see purple highlight in last picture. But open to ideas.
