139-Room Four Seasons Charleston, South Carolina, Opening 2028

Four Seasons has just announced the details of a new project, which should set the luxury hotel standard in the city…

Basics of the Four Seasons Charleston, South Carolina

Four Seasons is partnering with Strategic Property Partners to open a new luxury hotel and residences in Charleston, South Carolina. The Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Charleston will feature 139 guest rooms and suites, plus 36 branded residences.

It’ll be located in the city’s historic district, within walking distance to attractions like King Street, the Historical Charleston City Market, and the Gibbes Museum of Art. The eight floor newly built property is described as blending Charleston’s charm and heritage with modern luxury.

The hotel is expected to feature four restaurants and bars, a full-service spa, a fitness center, an outdoor pool with private cabanas, and 650 square meters (7,000 square feet) of event space. The property’s residences will range from 185 square meters (2,000 square feet), with two bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths, to 343 square meters (3,700 square feet), with five bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths.

This is a cool addition to the Charleston hotel scene

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m no expert on Charleston, though it appears that the Four Seasons will be the city’s first true luxury hotel belonging to a major hotel group. Charleston has a good number of independent luxury properties, which presumably fits into the city’s charm.

But it’s nice to have a newly built option, and based on the renderings, it looks like this property will do a nice job fitting into the city’s general aesthetic, while still offering what people expect from Four Seasons.

Bottom line

Plans for the Four Seasons Charleston have just been announced. The hotel is expected to open in 2028, with 139 rooms and 36 private residences, plus all kinds of amenities. It’s always nice to see smaller cities get more luxury options, so I look forward to learning more details as the opening date approaches.
