Setup Guide for Wavlink Router AP Mode

There are two scenarios you can find in your router AP mode operations. The first case is if user Find the AP mode tab option on the web GUI dashboard. The other case is if there no AP mode settings tab in the management dashboard. Let’s see how to setup Wavlink router AP mode.

Scenario1:

First you need to connect hardware connection with the home network;

  • Use the Ethernet cable.
  • Connect one end to router WAN port.
  • Connect other end to primary modem LAN port.
  • Plug in the power adapter to a wall socket.
  • Supply power to the router and modem.

FNow, have a look how to setup the Wavlink router AP mode;

  • Connect router to computer via WiFi (WAVLINK-XXXX) or use a LAN cable.
  • Select updated browser and search the default IP address 192.168.10.1 or URL wavlogin.link in URL bar.
  • Reach the interface, and enter device admin credentials like login password and click on the Login button.
  • You can use the default admin details (if not changed) use the username and password as ‘admin’.
  • To setup the AP mode, go in to the Wizard and select the LAN Bridge (AP) tab.
    • Enter the Specified Wi-Fi SSID and password and Save the changes. Then you must reconnect to the router with the changed SSID details.

    Scenario2:

    In this type of case, you have to change the LAN IP address of the Wavlink router as same as the main router of the home network. Also note that this IP must be outside of the main router DHCP range.

    As an example: If your LAN IP (main router) is 192.168.20.1 so the DHCP range will be 192.168.20.100 – 192.168.20.200.Then, you can assign the Wavlink router IP like 192.168.20.2, its range will be 192.168.20.200 – 192.168.20.300 (outside of the main router DHCP).

    • Connect a computer to the router network, log in to the GUI window of the main router, note its IP and DHCP range.
    • Connect the computer to the Wavlink router and log in to the web management on browser using 192.168.10.1.
    • Go into the LAN Setup tab, so that you can change the router LAN IP address.
