How to earn 10,000 XP in a single shift in The Precinct (Employee of the Day trophy)

When you first join The Precinct, earning XP can be a slow and steady process. But there are a few ways you can claim them faster and get closer to the Employee of the Day trophy. We've got a few techniques to help you rack up 10,000 XP in a single shift. How to acquire 10,000 XP in a single shift in The Precinct For the Employee of the Day trophy, longer shifts might seem like the safest bet to avoid running out of time. But after testing it myself, I found you can go into overtime and keep completing tasks, providing you with XP even after your shift technically ends. That means you can choose any shift length and free roam, though there's a slight penalty for going into unsanctioned overtime. If you want to skip the penalty altogether, customized shifts are your best option, running up to 24 hours for maximum flexibility. Once you're ready to start your day, you can earn XP as usual by catching perps and issuing tickets. While this method works, it won't rack up points quickly, so you must pair it with other objectives to hit that 10,000 XP goal. Completing Time Trials (clock icon) and Races (flag icon) are the fastest methods, each awarding around 500 to 750 XP for a Gold rank. Reaching Gold can be challenging, but with practice, you'll master each route and refine your strategy. If you're struggling to hit Gold, don't worry. Bronze and Silver ranks are still within reach and offer a solid XP payout. Screenshot by Destructoid Time Trials are the fastest to complete, usually taking about a minute, while Races offer much higher XP rewards. You can restart any challenge via the main menu whenever a run isn't going your way. This gives you more control over your performance and a better chance at earning top ranks. Any time you complete a Time Trial or Race, you'll typically find another nearby. The downside is once you've earned Gold, you can't repeat the same challenge for more XP. Fortunately, there are about 20 challenges in total, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to earn points. Just be sure to grab any emergency objectives like robberies or vandalism that pop up during your shift to maximize your XP intake. But I strongly recommend steering clear of any story-related missions for now, as these tasks can prematurely cut your day short. It took me a few hours to hit the target, so be prepared to put in time and effort. You can track your XP progress in the bottom-left corner of the screen. Screenshot and remix by Destructoid After you've hit 10,000, head back to the precinct to claim your Employee of the Day trophy. This will give your rank a considerable boost, unlocking new vehicles, equipment, and upgrades. You'll also likely unlock the On Top Form achievement, which is earned by snagging first place on the Shift scoreboard—another trophy for your collection.
