Action RPG Silver Palace looks like if Hoyoverse made Metaphor: ReFantazio

Anime-inspired action role-playing game Silver Palace, revealed Monday by developer-publisher Elementa, looks heavily inspired by games like Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero — you know, the kind of we’re-putting-everything-in-this-game game, in which well-dressed cartoon cuties unleash blistering ass-whoopings on giant monsters. Silver Palace also looks like it borrows a bit from Atlus’ Metaphor: ReFantazio, with a stylized Victorian aesthetic and a boldly designed user interface.

But there’s a lot we don’t know about Silver Palace; there’s no release date or target platforms, based on an announcement from Elementa. The publisher is seemingly hoping to win potential players over on aesthetics. Elementa promises a “gothic fairy tale-inspired” narrative and a “dynamic, action-oriented combat system with blistering melee attacks paired with third-person shooter gameplay.”

You can also ride flying horses and travel across the industrialized metropolis of Silvernia by grappling hook, à la BioShock Infinite and Deadlock.

The game’s story casts players as a detective tasked with investigating crimes and solving mysteries, Elementa said in an announcement. Players will battle “corporate powerhouses, underground crime syndicates, royal affiliates and cultists” as they fight over Silver Palace’s mystical power source Silverium. Players can put together a party of characters, switching between them in real time, and investigate crime scenes as they peel back the mystery of Silvernia.

Singapore-based Elementa released a 10-minute look at Silver Palace’s gameplay. It’s got style, for sure, but whether the substance is there remains to be seen. Curious players can register their interest at the game’s official website.
