Hollow Progression Guide in Type // CC
Hollows are probably the most popular of all Type // CC races because they follow an evolution-based progression system, transforming into more powerful forms as they consume other Hollows. The journey begins as a Fishbone and can ultimately lead to becoming an Arrancar or even unlocking Segunda Etapa, a devastatingly strong transformation. You begin as a Fishbone, a basic Hollow form. To evolve, you must kill other Hollows. Then, press B to consume their decaying bodies for EXP.
Hollow Progression System
The full list of Hollow evolutions in order is:
Normal Hollow → Menos → Adjuchas → Vasto Lorde, all of which can become an Arrancar.
Once you've gained enough EXP, you automatically evolve into a Menos. As a Menos, your primary way to gain EXP is still, you’ve guessed it—by stomping on other Hollows.
Other than Hollow-on-Hollow violence, you must also equip Menos Cero from the Kido Tree (Green) in your Skill Tree Menu (N). Once you accumulate enough EXP, you will evolve into an Adjuchas. The next step involving into an Vasto Lore, which is possible through the Mask Crack Mechanic. Here’s how it works:
- Once an Adjuchas, you'll see a mask crack counter at the top of your screen.
- Killing Adjuchas NPCs grants 2 mask cracks each.
- If you die, you lose some cracks.
- At 18 cracks, you instantly become a Vasto Lorde.
Tearing off your mask will turn you into an Arrancar, but the form you get depends on your evolution stage:
- Menos → Weaker Arrancar
- Adjuchas → Stronger Arrancar
- Vasto Lorde → Most powerful Arrancar
Using 7 Hogyoku Fragments negates these stat differences. Also, if you're an Adjuchas or Menoscar, you can use either 18 mask cracks or 7 Hogyoku Fragments to evolve into a Vastocar.
How to Unlock Segunda Etapa in Type // CC
There is also a final, hard-to-unlock, Arrancar form for Hollows. First, you need 18 mask cracks or 7 Hogyoku Fragments as an Adjuchas or Mensocar to become a Vastocar. Then, you need one of the following elements: Storm, Shark, Bone, Starrk, Vampire, Light, Arrogante, Volcanica, Slash, Phoenix, Pantera.
Likewise, you must also:
- Return to the sword used for Resurrección and interact with it.
- Get 20 Grips on opponents in Bankai, Resurrección, or Vollständig.
- Return to the sword to unlock Segunda Etapa.
Hollow Essential Abilities & Mechanics in Type // CC
Mostly relying on two skill trees, the most important Hollow abilities in Type // CC are:
- Flashstep (Speed Skill Tree) – Purchase for 0 skill points.
- Hierro (Kido Skill Tree) – Press U to toggle Hierro, which reduces incoming damage.
- Soul Style (Kido Skill Tree) – Grants unique combat movements.
Guide to Unlocking Resurrección as a Hollow
Resurrección Hollow's Equivalent to Shikai/Bankai, and is the key part of playing properly and facing off against the other two races.
Partial Resurrección unlocks at Grade 2. Then, you can select one Cero path from the Kido Tree. A black orb will spawn inside Hueco Mundo Castle. Click the pink one first (right), take your item, then press the black orb (left).
There are three stages, and here’s how to unlock them:
Stage 1
• Win 27 raids or 24 ranked matches.
Stage 2
• Kill 80 Hollow NPCs (missions count).
• Grip 15 Elite Grade players (must be from an opposite faction).
• Defeat 1 World Boss.
Stage 3
• Return to Hueco Mundo.
• Fall into the Menos Forest and locate a tree at the back.
• Climb up, find a sword, and meditate for 10 seconds.
• You will enter a maze where you must find and click on a specific hollow with blue eyes.
• A Shadow Adjucha will chase you, getting faster as you approach the target.
• If you succeed, a cutscene will play, and you will unlock your Resurrección, which has two groups of callouts - Legendary and Common.
Hollow Summary
Here’s a quick rundown on how to progress as a Hollow in Type // CC:

Quincy Progression Guide in Type // CC
Progressing as a Quincy in Type //CC follows a structured path that involves completing missions, acquiring abilities, and unlocking powerful transformations. Below is a streamlined breakdown of how to advance through the Quincy ranks.
Quincy Progression System
Begin by forming a party using the button on the left side of the screen. Then, locate a mission board to queue for missions, which are essential for gaining experience.
Early Progression (Grade 5 - Semi Grade 1)
During these ranks, the primary way to gain EXP is by completing missions.
At Semi Grade 1, you must obtain one grip (defeating and executing an opponent) to progress further.
Unlocking Schrift (Grade 2 and Beyond)
At Grade 2, you become eligible to obtain your Schrift, a unique ability that significantly enhances your combat effectiveness.
The Schrift is acquired by completing a special quest given by a statue in Wandenreich.
To unlock the Schrift ability in Type // CC, you must first reach Grade 2.
Start by locating the statue and speaking with it. This will initiate the Schrift quest. Complete the following tasks in any order:
• Defeat 1 Menos (NPC or Player)
• Defeat 1 Adjuchas (NPC or Player)
• Defeat 3 Fishbones (NPC or Player)
• Grip 1 Shinigami Player
• Grip 1 Arrancar Player
Once all objectives are fulfilled, return to the statue and interact with it to obtain Schrift. You can check your progress at any time by speaking with the statue again.
Advanced Progression (Semi Grade 1 - Elite Grade)
To reach Elite Grade, you’ll continue earning Mission EXP.
Some ranks may also require No Grip EXP, though this is uncertain.
