Anyone with actual experience at thinning Shoe Goo (styrene-butadiene rubber) with toluene or xylene?

I did some research, but I need feedback now. I have a camper cover that I repaired last year, as it had some holes in it. This year I noticed that the 3M spray didn't last, but the Shoe Goo rubber is still holding great. The 3M was a covered patch. The Goo was exposed to sun, snow, air etc. So, I'll stick with the rubbery stuff. My main concern was the variety of Goo at the stores. Are they the same chemistry? I'll need a fair amount. Probably at least 4-6 tubes and was going to hopefully thin it out for a brush application. Is there a preference of toluene over xylene? The name brand Goo is easily $12 a tube here. I don't want to ruin the batch with one bad tube or the wrong thinner. I do DIY so I don't waste my money and time. submitted by /u/digitalphildude [link] [comments]
