Best options for ventilating garage
We have a fairly standard flat roof garage with brick walls and a wood/tar roof that has a slight slope. It gets pretty damp in winter and hot in the summer and so I figure a vent would help. There's enough room for airflow around the garage door so I wanted to add the vent near the other end. I thought there might be enough room to add a vent into the side of the wooden parts hang down from the roof but, having looked closer, I don't think there's much room there. Other than drilling a bunch of holes along there, I don't think theres room for a proper vent. This just leaves with these options as far as I know? 1- Air bricks - need to knock a brick or two out and replace them with those bricks with holes. Not sure on those since I don't know they'd keep water out too well? 2- Some kind of flat roof vent outlet? Not sure how easy those are to fit. Would involve cutting through the plywood roof which is easy enough but not sure how easy it is to get a good waterproof seal? Are there any other options I'm missing? submitted by /u/phalalalala [link] [comments]
