Broan Nutone bathroom exhaust fan question.
My pre-existing broan 763RL needs to be replaced but it’s in my attic in a tough spot along side ac duct and it’s in place using hanger bars. I gave it a look first but decided to ask an electrician to come take a look. He couldn’t do the work to replace with a new same sized broan and suggested getting a new Panasonic exhaust fan that could be retrofitted into the hole and secured from below. The problem being the potential damage to the ceiling joists and the ceiling. The way he described his solution was to take a saw to the hanger bars bring out the housing and then scooting the new one in place and onto the vent. Anyone here have any experience with this? My assumption was that this exhaust fan was actual original to the house or at least this model was much more abundant and was at some point easily replaced without disrupting the housing box in the past. submitted by /u/JasperZest86 [link] [comments]
