Teamfight Tactics is blowing out six candles this June and its devs have prepared a few gifts wrapped in nostalgia and chaos.
Kicking off on June 11th and running through July 15th, the 6-Year Bash brings something old and something new, something borrowed from other Sets and something Pengu. Over 20 legacy traits from 13 past Sets collide on one board for the first time ever: it’s Pengu’s Party.
This game mode brings Dragonlords, Phantoms, Mech-Pilots, Jazz and more into one wild mashup for players to enjoy. Whether they’ve been climbing since Set 1 or just started exploring Cyber City, this event is the golden ticket to experience TFT’s evolution over the years—all with a sprinkle of prismatic variants and festive flair.
But with so many Sets having come and gone, even veteran players might find it tricky to combine 26 traits from opposite themes into a winning strategy—and the prismatic twists might raise the level of overwhelming information needed to reach first place in a lobby.
That’s why we asked TFT devs who’ve worked on the 6-years bash to share their favourite Pengu’s Party combos for players to try.
What to Play in Pengu’s Party? Teamfight Tactics Devs Share Their Favourite Comps
Matthew Louque, Technical Game Designer, loves the high-variance chaos. One of his favourite combos mashes Prismatic High Roller and Bronze Imperial in one board. He said to Esports Insider: “If you win it’s because you’re a genius! If you lose, you just got unlucky.”
He also suggests trying Prismatic Mountain combined with Bronze Laser Corps to build an ‘unkillable frontline that ALSO does damage’—think Aircraft Carrier Cho’Gath instead of Blitzcrank. And for fans of Kayle, Louque recommends Prismatic Storyweaver paired with Bronze Coven so she can be a ‘coven-leader’ that keeps casting ‘devastating spells.’
Louque’s other favourites include Prismatic Yordle with Bronze Punk, perfect for reroll players wanting to make Veigar ‘rock out’ with bonus power, and Prismatic The Boss and Bronze Rebel, giving Sett an extra ‘rebellious’ punch when he rejoins the fight. And if locking enemies down is in style during a game, try Prismatic Dragonlord with Bronze Glacial—Louque calls it a ‘stun-lock’ powerhouse.
Senior Product Manager Christina Jiang gravitates toward high-summon chaos with Prismatic Punk paired with the Trainer trait. She loves low-cost reroll comps and says pairing Nomsy with a double T-Hex setup can lead to exodia-level mayhem if players can hit the ‘No Scout, No Pivot’ augment at the start of their game.
Visual Design Artist Squeaky Cox chooses joy and chaos over strategy. To play like that, they suggested a few traits to prioritise over others. First one up, The Boss, an easy pick if players love watching champions turn into Sett and do sit-ups mid-fight to become stronger.
Maybe an easier pick to chaoti-fy the board is Hellion. “It’s like ‘oh you thought you killed me? SIKE!'” Squeaky Cox said, describing how ‘doppelhellions’ can swing a round in your favour. But in the end, Squeaky’s heart belongs to Laser Corps, because watching a swarm of drones ‘pew pew’ enemies into dust never gets old.
So, whether you’re chasing the meta or just vibing with Sett’s sit-ups, these dev-approved combos are perfect ways to kick off Teamfight Tactic’s wildest party yet with style.
