Burberry's Bohemian-Inspired Travels for Fall/Winter 2025
Daniel Lee took inspiration from the outdoors and British architecture to present a collection embedded with tradition and English sophistication.
Another London Fashion Week means another Burberry runway show. The brand's Fall/Winter 2025 collection brought the week to a close. From the visionary mind of Creative Director Daniel Lee, the runway show took place at the Tate Britain. Set against a backdrop of scenic nature tapestry-lined walls, Lee and Bureau Betak, a Paris-based production company, chose a carpeted runway in Burberry's bold blue.
Given the setting, it's no surprise that the Fall/Winter 2025 designs reflected Lee's vision of bohemian travel. Models strutted the blue carpet in designs that boasted a countryside aesthetic down to the color palette, which featured hues of red, greens, deep taupe, tapestry browns, and yellows. The collection featured contemporary outerwear such as long coats and scarves, as well as Burberry's signature plaid pattern, paying homage to the luxury house's heritage.
The collection was heavily influenced by elegance and English nobility, no doubt Lee's attempt to pay tribute to his country. Leather parkas, velvet trousers, equestrian-inspired knee-high boots, and umbrellas were accessories for those English rainy days. Lee created a harmonious union between the "outdoors and domesticity" through his reinterpretation of classic silhouettes like robes and smoking jackets being crafted cashmere tailored coats and shawl collars. The show introduced a new Burberry saddle bag featuring a curved top handle and jewelry-inspired hardware with bridle reins. The creative designer turned to art for the jewelry completing the looks in this collection. Crystal-embellished necklaces were influenced by the heavens while some beaded fringed necklaces were influenced by landscape paintings.
To close out London Fashion Week, the star-studded front row is worth mentioning, too: Kim Cattrall, Law Roach, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rosie Huntington Whitely, and Quen Blackwell were among several other celebrities in attendance. To elevate the noble sensibility in the collection, iconic English figures like Naomi Campbell, Jason Isaac, Elizabeth McGovern, and Jessica Madsen graced the runway.
