Former Call of Duty esports player and 100 Thieves Founder, Matt ‘Nadeshot’ Haag, has called out Activision regarding the number of players cheating in Call of Duty: Warzone.

Following the launch of the battle royale’s Season 4 update, Nadeshot is one of several content creators claiming the number of cheaters has increased in recent weeks.

During an eight-hour Twitch stream on June 3rd, 2025, Nadeshot claims that Ranked Play matches he played featured opponents using tools to gain an unfair advantage.

As a result, the former OpTic Gaming player took to social media to share his frustrations and how cheaters are negatively impacting Warzone’s competitive mode.

“Call of Duty has never been worse. I do love this game, but there was a hacker in almost every lobby we played in,” said Nadeshot.

In addition to encountering cheaters, a bug where the ranks of players were incorrectly reset has resulted in further frustration for those looking to obtain in-game rewards and earn a place at the top of the leaderboards. “If you were Iridescent, you either got sent down to Bronze or placed in Diamond. Me, Scump, Apathy and others were sent back down to Bronze.”

On May 31st, 2025, Activision confirmed it was investigating issues surrounding steeper seasonal setbacks. At the time of writing, the publisher has yet to share further information on the problem, leaving those affected in the wrong skill division.

Is Cheating in Warzone Getting Worse?

There are several reports from players claiming the number of cheaters in Call of Duty: Warzone has increased significantly in recent weeks, despite Activision shutting down multiple cheat providers throughout the year.

Several high-profile content creators have also recently shared their frustrations. As such, it seems that further measures are required to prevent cheaters from impacting Warzone’s competitive mode and the wider community.
