Calvin Klein Sets Its Sights On Shapewear
When you think of Calvin Klein, you think of underwear, specifically, underwear on an uber-famous celebrity wheat-pasted on a full-story billboard. Now, after nearly four decades of iconic campaigns that helped dominate the designer underwear scene, the brand has announced its latest venture: shapewear. The collection is the brand's first of its kind in the shapewear space. To commemorate the launch, Calvin Klein tapped one of fashion's favorite photographers, Charlotte Wales, and model Eve Hewson. Pieces include true sculpting undergarments as well as fashion shapewear pieces meant to be worn as clothing inspired by "sensual simplicity." Items range from biker short bodysuits to seamless thongs to lace-trimmed one-pieces. Each garment features four signature components: Second Skin Smoothing, Stay Put Mesh, Stay Put Stretch, and Secure Sculpt. The launch follows closely behind Skims and Nike's newly announced joint venture. NikeSkims is the latest in the company's rapid expansion. Valued at nearly $4 billion USD, Skims has also partnered with the 2024 Paris Olympics, the WNBA, and most recently, The North Face. Until now, Skims has monopolized a large share of the shapewear landscape. Now it's Calvin Klein's turn to compete. Calvin Klein's shapewear is available online now. Pieces range from $34 for a "Second Skin Smoothing Thong" to $104 for a "Stay-Put Stretch Slip."Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
