Can manufactured homes handle the weight of built-in bookshelves.
I've FINALLY reached the point where I can afford to make a down payment and live in a house. My plan for said house, whichever one I end up in, is as many built-in bookcases as physically possible. Except the kitchens and bathrooms, I want just, floor to ceiling books. (Maybe even one of those book shelf staircases if it has stairs.) I haven't had the chance to make a built in book case before but I'm good at learning new stuff. Question. If I get a manufactured home, could that have problems with the sheer weight of so many books? I'm trying to google it but all I get is stuff about mobile homes and obese renters. I know it probably varies but what should I be looking out for? Do I ask about what type of foundation when I'm looking at the house? Or is this more to do with the walls? submitted by /u/Fenvara [link] [comments]
