Chase Sapphire Lounge Coming To DFW Airport Terminal D
Were seeing credit card issuers invest in airport lounges like never before, includingAmex Centurion Lounges,Capital One Lounges, andChase Sapphire Lounges. Chase in particular has been doing an impressive job with the pace at which it’s opening lounges. While an official announcement hasn’t been made, we have details on an upcoming lounge project, which I haven’t covered before.

We’re seeing credit card issuers invest in airport lounges like never before, including Amex Centurion Lounges, Capital One Lounges, and Chase Sapphire Lounges. Chase in particular has been doing an impressive job with the pace at which it’s opening lounges. While an official announcement hasn’t been made, we have details on an upcoming lounge project, which I haven’t covered before.
Basics of the Chase Sapphire Lounge DFW
In early 2023, we learned how a Chase Sapphire Lounge was coming to Dallas Fort Worth Airport (DFW), based on airport filings detailing the plans (the card issuer hasn’t otherwise formally announced this). There haven’t been many updates in well over two years, so what’s the latest?
View from the Wing flags an interesting update. It would appear that a permit for the lounge was issued in April 2024, and construction on the lounge is nearly 50% complete. Admittedly we don’t know exactly when construction started (it could have been well after the permit was issued).
Either way, it sounds like progress is being made, and the lounge should open, but it’s probably not imminent. At this point, I’d guess that an opening in very late 2025 or early 2026 is probably the best case scenario (that’s purely speculation on my part).
The Chase Sapphire Lounge DFW will be located in Terminal D, near gate D35, one level above the concourse. It’s expected to be a little over 18,000 square feet, so it’ll be one of the larger locations in the network, just slightly smaller than New York LaGuardia (LGA) and Philadelphia (PHL).
There are also Chase Sapphire Lounges planned for Las Vegas (LAS) and Los Angeles (LAX), though unfortunately no opening timeline has been announced for those lounges either.
DFW will get the credit card lounge trifecta!
Up until now, we haven’t seen any single airport get lounges from all three credit card issuers. It sure sounds like DFW may be the first airport to achieve that — there’s currently an Amex Centurion Lounge and Capital One Lounge, so when the Chase Sapphire Lounge opens, we’ll have all three. Not only that, but they’ll all be in the same terminal, just a short walk apart. Talk about a fun lounge hopping opportunity!
Now, in fairness, it’s also possible that Las Vegas ends up taking that title before DFW. There’s currently an Amex Centurion Lounge and Capital One Lounge, and a Chase Sapphire Lounge is planned. However, they won’t all be in the same terminal, and we also don’t know the timeline on that.
Bottom line
A Chase Sapphire Lounge is in the works for Terminal D at Dallas Fort Worth Airport (DFW). Construction on the roughly 18,000 square foot lounge isn’t quite half done, so it’ll probably be some time before the lounge opens. Either way, it’s an exciting development, and it’ll mean that a single terminal will have lounges from three card issuers.
What do you make of plans for the Chase Sapphire Lounge DFW?
