Cheaper alternatives to paracord to weaving outdoor chairs?

I have patio chairs that were originally made for indoor usage. Metal with some type of straw looking material that is getting mold when left outside. I want to keep the metal and do my own chair weaving. Paracord would have been a great choice, but I have 5 chairs to do, and if it uses 400ft of cord per chair, that’s 2000ft of cord, which comes out to $120 or so. Aside from the time commitment needed, that price point makes me feel like I’m better off buying new (or even used) chairs instead of fixing the existing ones. Are there alternatives to paracord that would work well? Something thick enough that can survive being outside for years. submitted by /u/Croe01 [link] [comments]
