Creaking hardwood floor solution?
Hi all! My husband and I have a house built mid-50’s and it has LOVELY hardwood floors! Lovely except for the hideously loud creaking. I assume we could screw them down or something (or have someone out to do it for us which is rather NOT do) but I hate the idea of having screws in the floors. I read a suggestion elsewhere that baby powder sprinkled on the floor and allowed to get into the cracks can ease the creaking somehow. I’m not completely sure I understand it but if it works I would definitely give it a go before taking screws to the floors… has anyone heard of such a thing or tried it and has success? submitted by /u/The-Mrs-H [link] [comments]
