DIY Fume Hood - Any major mistakes? (see description)
Moved into a house with a kitchen having no real ventilation, which was a major issue for me as I like high-heat cooking... Tried to pay some nearby companies, but "the job was too small"... So I spent an excessive amount of time researching, planning and executing. I removed this microwave and installed a 845 CFM fume hood + 6" round ductwork that has been working wonderfully. Aside from roasting my work quality, are there any obvious mistakes visible from these photos? I'm anxious about the idea of water leaks or someway I damaged the house. Cutting a 6" hole in my wall was nerve-wracking... Planning to redo the seal/caulking on the outside soon. On the outside, I mounted the exhaust vent to a 1" thick PVC plate, which was an idea I got from some "contractor" on YouTube (maybe they are, idk). Feedback is appreciated submitted by /u/CrisisActor777 [link] [comments]
