51-Room Aman Rosa Alpina Opening, In Italian Dolomites

Uber-luxury hotel group Aman has just announced an opening date for its newest location, which actually represents the rebranding of an existing hotel. Skiers may be especially interested in this new property.

Basics of the Aman Rosa Alpina, Italy

Aman Rosa Alpina will be located in San Cassiano, Italy, in the Dolomites. The property marks the rebranding of the Rosa Alpina Hotel & Spa, after an extensive renovation led by Jean-Michel Gathy. This will be Aman’s second property in Italy (after Aman Venice), and second European ski resort (after Aman Courchevel).

The hotel will be open in both summer and winter. For 2025, it’ll be open from July 12 until October 12 in summer, and then it’ll open for the winter season as of December 4, 2025.

As far as amenities go, Aman Rosa Alpina will boast a newly built spa with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a gym, three private cinemas, a ski lounge, and more. Note that while the hotel offers transfers to the San Cassiano cable car station, it’s not ski-in ski-out.

When it comes to dining, the hotel will have an Italian grill and Japanese restaurant, an all-day lounge for drinks and afternoon tea, and a dedicated breakfast room. Unfortunately St. Hubertus, the former three Michelin star restaurant inside the hotel, won’t be reopening.

The hotel’s design is described as drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of the Dolomites and the history of the Pizzinini family, which has owned the property for 70+ years. The design is supposed to blend alpine tradition with Aman’s modern, minimalist aesthetic.

It’s very cool to see this new property, as the Italian Dolomites are becoming an increasingly popular international destination. I’ve heard that Forestis Dolomites is amazing (have any OMAAT readers been?), and there’s also a Mandarin Oriental coming to the Dolomites. Of course there are many other great options as well, but those are the first two that come to mind, in terms of what’s on my radar.

Aman Rosa Alpina rates & inclusions

We’re talking about a European ski resort that’s also an Aman, so of course it’s not going to be cheap. That being said, at least the entry level rates are lower than I would’ve expected.

Currently the absolute lowest rates I see are €1,218 per night, and interestingly those rates apply in both summer and winter. Obviously that’s a lot of money, but it’s much cheaper than I would’ve expected. Admittedly that pricing is only available on some nights, and other days entry level rooms start at €1,750 to €2,000 per night, give or take.

All rates include daily breakfast, in-room refreshments (for non-alcoholic drinks), and complimentary shuttle service to the San Cassiano cable car station in winter. If you are going to book the property, I’d recommend doing so through a Virtuoso travel advisor, who can add extra perks, like a property credit and an upgrade.

Bottom line

Aman Rosa Alpina is opening as of the summer of 2025, in the Italian Dolomites. This marks the rebranding of the Rosa Alpina Hotel & Spa, after a significant refurbishment. It’s always great to have more ski destinations with good hotels, and so far, the pricing is at least a bit better than what you’ll find in many other ski destinations.
