There are quite a few steps to successfully completing this process, so here's a breakdown of how to get it done. Invite Scrooge McDuck to hang out. Interact with him, then select the dialogue option that allows you to have him hang out and follow you around the valley. Consider crafting and using Miracle Pickaxe Polish or Even More Miraculous Pickaxe Polish. Both of these potions can be used to make finishing this task a lot easier. When applied, they increase the drops that yield from each rock spot. Visit a biome that has the Gems you need for this task. Make sure you're in the right area before you start mining. Equip your Royal Pickaxe and get to work mining. Mine all the rock nodes you come across in the right biomes until you find the amount of minerals you need.
