Elisa Esports has announced the Elisa Nordic Championship 2025, a €100,000 (~£83,000) Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournament taking place in Vaasa, Finland.
From May 20th-24th, the event will bring together eight tier-two teams from Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway.
The inaugural edition of the Championship will feature two squads from each of the four participating regions. Contestants will begin their run through a double-elimination bracket with the closed studio phase from May 20th -22nd.
The arena phase will then see the remaining top four teams compete in front of a live audience at Vaasa Sähkö Arena.
All matches will be best-of-threes (BO3s) except for the best-of-one (BO1) Upper Bracket Quarterfinals and Semifinals.
Tickets for the second stage will be available from March 1st on the tournament website. Moreover, all matches will be broadcast in English and Finnish on the respective Elisa Esports Twitch channels.
Interested CS2 teams can qualify through different competitions depending on their home country:
- Finland: Elisa Open Suomi Season 8 and 9
- Sweden: Sverige Open 2025
- Denmark: Dust2.dk Ligaen Season 28
- Norway: MistGames Norwegian Championship Season 1 and 2
Who is Elisa Esports
The Nordic Championship is organised by Elisa Esports, the esports branch of Finnish telecommunications company Elisa Oyj. Elisa has been involved in esports for several years, working with stakeholders such as Finnish esports organisation ENCE and tournament organiser ESL.
Among its most notable CS2 tournaments is the annual Elisa Masters in Finland’s Espoo, which has featured well-known teams within the scene, including Astralis and Fnatic.
For the upcoming Nordic event, Elisa is collaborating with Fragbite in Sweden, Dust2.dk in Denmark as well as MistGames in Norway.
