Esportes gaming Brasil appoints Hugo Baungartner as executive director

Esportes Gaming Brasil, the parent company behind prominent brands Esportes da Sorte and Onabet, has announced the appointment of Hugo Baungartner as Executive Director for Institutional Relations and Strategic Partnerships.

This move signals a strategic focus on regulatory engagement and business development as Brazil’s gambling industry undergoes rapid transformation.

Baungartner brings nearly three decades of experience in technology and gaming, having held senior roles at Grupo Aposta Ganha, RCT Gaming and Prohards.

Esportes Gaming Brasil will include strengthening institutional engagement with key regulatory authorities such as the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting, the Federal Revenue Service, the Central Bank, and COAF.

He will also work closely with certification bodies and accredited laboratories to ensure full compliance with Brazil’s evolving regulatory landscape.

The appointment comes as Brazil accelerates efforts to formalise its betting market, with new regulations aimed at increasing transparency, consumer protection, and sustainable growth.
