Everything We Know So Far About 'The White Lotus' Season 4

As The White Lotus season 3 finale airs tomorrow night, April 6, viewers are bracing themselves for the signature twist that has defined each season of Mike White’s darkly satirical hit. With one final episode left to untangle the web of secrets and high-end drama, fans are already busy crafting theories about who will meet their untimely end this time around. But while the mystery of season 3 is about to be resolved, the iconic chain resort The White Lotus is far from seeing an end to chaos.

Fortunately, HBO has officially renewed The White Lotus for a fourth season, giving fans something to look forward to beyond this weekend’s finale. And while much about the next chapter remains a mystery—no plot details, cast, or release date have been confirmed—there are already whispers, hints, and behind-the-scenes chatter that give us a glimpse into what might lie ahead. From location speculation to rumors of returning cast members, season 4 is already generating major buzz.

So if you're feeling anxious about the finale, consider this your distraction: everything we know so far about The White Lotus season 4, from potential filming destinations to cast rumors and changes behind the scenes.

What’s the Plot?

While no official plot details have been revealed, we can make a pretty solid guess based on the show’s signature formula. Season 4 will likely once again center around a group of affluent travelers checking into a lavish White Lotus resort—only for at least one of them to meet a tragic end before check-out. It's the blueprint that’s made the series so addictive, and there’s little reason to believe that’s changing anytime soon.

Still, beyond that familiar setup, the specifics remain tightly under wraps. HBO and Max chief Casey Bloys did confirm to Variety that creator Mike White has been pitching new ideas since late 2024, so the next chapter is already in motion. While the storyline may still be in development, one thing’s for sure: sun-soaked settings, sharp social commentary, and a slow-building sense of dread will almost certainly be back on the itinerary.

Where Will Season 4 Take Place?

The new season’s location hasn’t been confirmed yet, but the clues are stacking up. Creator Mike White has long expressed his desire to take the show to different continents, and hitting every single one would be ideal.

Meanwhile, HBO exec Francesca Orsi recently said the team is still in the scouting phase, but chances are somewhere in Europe. And sorry to those hoping for a colder, frigid climate—Norway reportedly offered $8 million to host the production, but the offer was turned down, and it could be due to the fact that in a recent podcast, The White Lotus producer David Bernad mentioned how Mike White cannot stand the cold.

Who’s Returning?

Casting has yet to be announced, but that hasn’t stopped speculation. Natasha Rothwell (Belinda) has made a comeback before and joked on Good Morning America that she'd return “if I survive this season.” Jon Gries’s Greg has been a near-constant presence, so could he also be a recurring character?

The absence of confirmed casting details has left the door wide open for fans to dream up their ideal lineup, sparking lively discussions across social media. From Hollywood veterans like Lindsay Lohan to internet personalities like Trisha Paytas, the fan-casting wish lists for season 4 are as chaotic and entertaining as the show itself.

When Will It Air?

Don't hold your breath for a 2025 release. Variety reported that production may not begin until 2026, pushing a possible premiere into late 2026 or even 2027. That said, given the show's global scale and anthology format, the wait could be well worth it.
