J-Hope From BTS' Best Street Style and Red Carpet Looks

J-Hope of BTS has kept himself booked and busy since he completed his mandatory military service in 2024. The K-pop idol is currently on his "Hope on the Stage" tour, consisting of 56 shows in the U.S., South America, and Asia. As he travels the world and makes public appearances, Army (BTS' fanbase name) are reminded of his distinct style and dynamic wardrobe.

Every Army knows that the seven members of BTS, Kim Namjoon (RM), Kim Seokjin (Jin), Min Yoongi (Suga), Jung Hoseok (J-Hope), Park Jimin (Jimin), Kim Taehyung (V), and Jung Jungkook (Jungkook), have a diverse fashion portfolio and can distinguish each member based on their individual styles. Each shares a deep appreciation for fashion. However, there's a different aura to J-Hope's love of style. His fashion sense has captivated fans differently, even earning his style its own name, "Hobicore."

"Hobicore" is a combination of J-hope's nickname, Hobi, and kidcore. The aesthetic, and what J-hope's style is associated with, blends retro nostalgia with kitsch elements like smiley faces to create a fun form of self-expression. Other characteristics of "Hobicore" include bright colors, floral designs, pop art, and rainbows. His iconic street style is accentuated by oversized combinations like oversized tops with baggy pants. He's also an advocate for layering, as he tends to sport a long-sleeve top under a short-sleeve top, which he pairs with distressed jeans, a preference of his.

The artist's looks often juxtapose with each other as BTS's main dancer incorporates contemporary pieces with traditional ones. His street style has evolved since his early days, but it's still very urban, and he still gets a kick out of wearing graphic tees and bomber jackets. While he's a champion of subtle elegance through minimalism, he's embraced all that high-end fashion has to offer. The idol caught the attention of Louis Vuitton and was named ambassador in 2023. One of his first stops after returning from military service was the French company's Fall/Winter 2025 presentation at Paris Fashion Week.

J-hope's most recent fashion collaboration was with South Korean designer Juntae Kim for his tour, which, to no one's surprise, went viral. The ensemble consists of a red fur-lined leather jacket with matching red leather pants. The look was complemented with red sunglasses and red leather gloves.

While apparel plays a significant role in J-hope's sense of style, the minute details are just as necessary for the rapper. He personalizes his looks with beaded bracelets, hair accessories, and other jewelry, such as rings that highlight his nail art and necklaces. He's a big believer in shoes that make a statement, and he'll often be spotted wearing personalized trainers like his most recent outing to a Lakers game. He was sporting Air Jordans with a South Korean flag on the tongue of the legendary shoe. J-Hope was also presented with a special gift from Lakers player Luka Doncic, his unreleased Jordan Luka 4s. It seems that even the Los Angeles Lakers are in awe of the K-pop idol's style.

The Korean artist is preparing to finish the U.S. leg of his tour and head to Asia in time for the rest of the BTS to complete their military service. The remaining five members are set to finish their obligation in June 2025, and rumors of a world tour are already circulating as the world awaits for the biggest band in the world's comeback.
