French drain questions
I just bought a house that slopes into the back of my house. Im not sure if a french drain is necessary or not. I see a lot of sand/drit deposited at the base of an already inground drain(no clue how well it works)(pic 2). I think i want to do what the neighbors did in picture 5 and make a wall, plant some small shrubs to soak up some water and put in a french drainbehind the wall (nearest tonthe house) and direct it out to the front yard. Ideally, im looking to cut down on the amount of crud coming to that back drain and along the side of the house. (Pics 2&3) Is the a french drain even the right solution for this? If so, do i need to borr a hole into the front wall in the front yard and have the drain exist there? (Pic 4) submitted by /u/jm331107 [link] [comments]
