Help troubleshooting issues with Samsung laundry washer

Good Day, We have a ~5 year old Samsung washer for laundry that recently stopped working. Samsung Model #WF42H5000AW/A2 11 The door was locked and the LED panel stuck on on a certain timing displayed. Knobs didn't work. Due to storms in the area around that time, I suspect it was related to lightning but can't confirm. I pulled the two main circuit boards out of the back and the inverter board with the large heat sink had a very clearly blown large electrolytic capacitor that appeared 'popped' and had black/dark clouding underneath the epoxy surrounding it under the circuit board. I replaced both boards (primary circuit board as well as inverter board). The laundry machine now fires up and the cycles and knobs are responsive, however it's not quite working. It will fill the machine with water. It will do a slow, 45-90ish degree turn left and right to mix water and soap into the load. However, it will never start actual spinning or agitation. It will just sit. I can turn it off and have it drain the water and refill, but the actual working cycles never begin. When troubleshooting, I did remove the back, top, and front panels of the machine. I believe I reinstalled everything correctly, but there's always the chance I dislodged something though I inspected everything and found no issues. There's also the potential the storm took out a secondary sensor/switch/etc. Any recommendations/tips/next steps? I'm handy but we're not exactly in a position to replace the washer at this moment. submitted by /u/Ludeykrus [link] [comments]

Good Day,

We have a ~5 year old Samsung washer for laundry that recently stopped working.

Samsung Model #WF42H5000AW/A2 11

The door was locked and the LED panel stuck on on a certain timing displayed.
