Hinge Suggestions / Pegboard Door
Hello DIY community. I'm a new home owner and I've been looking to add some better organization to my garage by installing some pegboards on some walls in the corner. However, directly in this corner is a narrow door that leads to a small closet with my water heater in it. This closet is very rarely opened so I'd like to place a pegboard on the door to hang some lighter items, but still be able to open the door when needed. More specifically, I'd like to run pegboard both on the door and past/around the door, with as small of a gap/cutout between the edge of the door as possible. This is partly for more usable space, but also because I think it would look better with a more seamless gap. The door swings towards me (into the garage) when opened, so my concern is it would sandwich the two pegboards together. Initially, I was thinking I would try to find a wider door hinge (the protrudes past the wall by ~1"), but it seems like those are hard to find. Instead, I was thinking of trying to use an offset door hinge, but I'm not sure if it would provide enough clearance. Any advice on a better way to approach this? submitted by /u/Nofbon [link] [comments]
