Meet the winners of Your Best Shot!

One of our most exciting updates last month was the much anticipated announcement of the winners for our Your Best Shot 2024 Contest! With the help of host Alastair Jolly, Flickr announced the category winners and grand prize winner of our most popular contest of the year. Winners were applauded by our judges and the Flickr community for their impressive contest submissions via a livestream announcement on January 30th.  For a recap or our winners and the inspiration for their winning photos, check out the Flickr Blog. If you’d like to experience the announcement with a little extra anticipation, view the livestream recording on YouTube and give our winners a shout out and some extra love for their accomplishments! 

Also, don’t forget to check out our YBS Honorable Mentions! The competition was tough and while 5 winners took the top spots, our Flickr community certainly deserves some extra kudos for all of the impressive submissions entered into the YBS contest this year. What’s new? Find it on Discover!

Did you know there’s a new tool on Flickr that makes finding that niche community you’re looking for even easier? We all know that Flickr Groups provide that extra level of community connection that sets Flickr apart from the other platforms which is why this new tool is so special. Let us introduce the new Discover page. The Discover page is located under the Explore tab on your site and will help you find groups, sub-groups, and even sub-sub groups in a flash. Check it out today and find your Flickr community!

Honoring Black History Month on Flickr

In honor of Black History Month, we’re excited to partner with Black photographers on Flickr for this month’s community-curated Explore takeover. Every month the Flickr team curates a collection of 500 images to be featured the last Thursday of each month on our Explore page and we want you to join the fun. Head on over to Flickr Social and share your own photos or the photos of some of your favorite Black creators on Flickr to help add to the celebration. 

The party continues, join the Flickr 21 Day Photo challenge!

Flickr just turned 21 and to celebrate the big day, we kicked off a 21 Day Photo Challenge and it’s not too late to join the party. Visit the official 21 Day Birthday Photo Challenge group to get started. We’re providing new themes every day and you can still add yours to the mix! Make sure to check out the group rules, get inspired by our themes and tag your photos before adding them to the photo pool. We love the community here on Flickr and want to celebrate our big 21st birthday with you, so see you over in the group where the party is still going!
