Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Dallas, one of the biggest Counter-Strike 2 tournaments this year, is set to kick off on May 19th, 2025.

Hosted by ESL FACEIT Group, the CS2 tournament will see the top 16 teams compete for a lion’s share of its $1m (~£752,000) prize pool.

Ahead of the event, here is everything you need to know about IEM Dallas 2025.

What is the Format of IEM Dallas 2025?

IEM Dallas will be split into two stages, the group stage and the playoffs.

The group stage runs from May 19th-21st, 2025. There will be two groups of eight teams in a double-elimination format, with each match being best-of-three.

Winners of the Group Stage advance to the Semi-finals, runner-ups move to the quarterfinals as High Seeds, and third-place teams move to the quarter-finals as Low Seeds.

Playoffs run from May 23rd-25th, taking place with a single-elimination bracket. Quarterfinals and semi-finals will be best of three, while the grand-final will be best of five.

DreamHack Dallas 2025

IEM will run alongside DreamHack Dallas, a gaming and esports festival where players can get involved in their own competitions and take part in a range of activities.

There will also be several esports competitions at DreamHack Dallas. This includes the CDL Major IV, the Brawl Cup and the Halo Championship Series.

Other competitions include the Cosplay Championships, and the Bring-Your-Own-Computer LAN Party. There will also be other activities included, such as indie and tabletop gaming.

Ahead of the IEM Dallas 2025 grand finals, two women’s squads will compete at the ESL Impact Season 7 Finals, taking place in the IEM arena for the first time. Holders of IEM Add-On ticket will have guaranteed seating, while the rest of DreamHack Dallas festival ticket holders can access free seating in the upper ranks of the Arena on a first-come, first-served basis.
